Health Rescue is a brief, intensive immersion course which uses the two-way communication between mind and body to not only resolve a range of conditions, most notably ME/CFS/fibromyalgia, chronic back pain, anxiety disorders, stress and burnout, but also to give the skills for long term health and a Great Life . It borrows from a number of therapeutic approaches including Humanistic Neurolinguistic Psychology, hypnotherapy, Human Givens, mindfulness and the latest research in neuroplasticity, pyschoneuroimmunology and Positive Psychology.
Learn to influence:
-
immune system
-
endocrine system
-
pain perception
- whether the condition is recent or of longstanding
- whether mild, moderate or severe
- whether adult or child
The training mixes small group sessions with individual ones, giving both valuable feedback from fellow trainees as well as personal attention. The condensed nature of the training – and its consistent application – constitutes what neurologists call “massed practice” which stabilises changes to the brain’s neural networks. The initial results can be very rapid and then continue to build over the following weeks and months as the trainee applies the techniques, changes their health, and acquires life-long coping skills.
ME, Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia
It is well known that the hypothalamus, the pituitary and the adrenals play an important role in the symptoms of ME. An infection, or another stressor like physical trauma or toxicity, causes the adrenals to release adrenaline (stimulated by the sympathetic nervous system) and cortisol (stimulated by the hypothalamus and pituitary). The adrenals then need to rest in order to regenerate but sometimes are not given that opportunity and continue to be stimulated.
This continual release of stress hormones causes a range of physiological changes – notably, for example, suppression of the immune system – which have the effect of further stressing the body and causing yet more hormone production by ever more depleted adrenals. So we have a vicious cycle and the development of ME. Health Rescue teaches how to interrupt the cycle and restore health. Typically changes are experienced during the first days of the training.
Anxiety
Closely linked to ME/CFS is anxiety, whether it is a predisposing factor or a result of the effects of the illness or an entirely separate condition. The hormonal changes described above and the cycle of Stress-Anxiety-More Stress contribute to the physiological and emotional symptoms experienced. The training cut through the cycle, change thinking, build new neural pathways.
Chronic Pain
Increasingly recognised as a result not of injury or musculoskeletal weakness but of our perceptions, chronic pain, especially back pain can be resolved with Health Rescue training. The same stress response that produces feelings of anxiety and fear results in tensed muscles and mild oxygen deprivation, poor functioning and pain. The training teaches how different reactions to pain begin to lessen it, and thus the stress response that accompanies it, which in turn reduces the unpleasant sensation. Many clients are able to resume normal lives.
