about karar

I spent 13 years teaching tennis and during the last 10 years have explored the body through meditation and various other forms of therapy including craniosacral balancing and various forms of massage. These are used in various ways of bringing more ease and flow in to the body and one's life. I am currently studying an MA in Core Process Psychotherapy.

These skills have been developed through personal life experiences of being in sport and also from observing athletes who keep having the same injuries. Unless you get to the root of the injury, then injuries tend to recur, whenever the system comes under intense pressure/stress. Craniosacral works in a holistic way that lets the whole system come back to Homeostasis.

I have found that I can use 'Cranio' to treat top athletes where previously 'quick fixes' have failed.

how does it work?

In response to physical knocks or emotional stress the body's tissues contract. Sometimes, particularly when the shock is severe or accompanied by strong emotions, the tissues stay contracted.

Any trauma, stresses, strains, or tensions which remain in the body restrict the body's functioning and may give rise to problems over the years. The effects may be both physical (such as back pain, migraine or digestive disorders) and emotional (such as anxiety or depression).

Restrictions in the body's functioning show up in the way that cranialsacral motion is expressed. Craniosacral therapists are trained to feel this subtle motion in the body, and can use it to find where there is congestion or restriction. Then, using the hands to amplify the pattern the body is holding, the therapist provides an opportunity for the body to let go of its restriction and return to an easier way of functioning. This frees the energy which the body was previously using to hold itself in contraction.

So one of the many benefits of Craniosacral work can be an increase in the level of energy available. The resulting changes can bring greater ease on a mental or emotional level as well as to the body.

Testimonials

I came with tennis elbow trouble. In a session I felt a link from the elbow in to the back of the head occiput area as this released, I felt a pain in the middle of my back which brought a memory of when I was a teenager and I had strained this area of my back. Over a course of Craniosacral sessions the tennis elbow went away and the tension in the back also eased. It was clear that the tennis elbow injury came due to older strains on the body that had not been fully processed, which put a greater strain on the rest of the body and made it more susceptible to injury.

I came to karar feeling stressed and unable to focus. After my session with him I felt
deeply  relaxed and centred again, and found my ability to be grounded, clear and confident.
